This is about biofuel or alternative fuel to petroleum or diesel and where to find it. Ethanol can be made from corn or any starchy food. Starting from grinding the corn to a fine granular consistency to expose its kernel and starch matter, a long process of distilling takes place to make beer-like alcohol which is further distilled to make Ethanol. But imagine this scenario. Is starchy food the only way Ethanol can be made? How about other alcoholic substances which intoxicate a person when overly consumed.

When I was a child trying to imitate adults I chewed some betel leaves with tobacco. I got very intoxicated because the tobacco I had put in the bite was too much. If tobacco is intoxicating, then we must be able to make an alcohol spirit from it. Then can’t it be used to brew biofuels? I am sure ethanol or any other kind of biofuel can be brewed from tobacco. With genetic engineering, a tobacco plant variety can be researched to get the optimum amount of alcohol. According to what I see, more Ethanol can be made per acre of tobacco cultivation than from corn cultivation. If you brew ethanol from tobacco that would be your energy for the next millennium.

With ethanol brewed from tobacco, turbine generators can be run to power our countries. When that power is fed into the national grid that could be used to charge electric cars and other electric vehicles. Anyone would think that this is silly because we can just fill the tanks of our internal combustion vehicles from this new variety of alternative fuels. But my point is, it is easier to clean the environment in one place where the turbine generators are than clean the environment all over in a country when polluted by vehicles when they travel in the country burning fossil fuels.

This is a better way of producing electricity than from nuclear power plants because environmental pollution can be controlled. Charging electric cars from power generated by nuclear power plants is not cheap compared to my method.

Airlines would also need biofuels too to fly because we can’t imagine a 747 or an A380 being powered by electric engines. And any country’s defense forces would need biofuels too to power their war machinery as well. So alternative energy to fossil fuels must be found before the wells in the Middle East dry up. So why not brew ethanol or any biofuel with a high octane value from tobacco?

Biofuels can also be brewed from the poppy plant and other kinds of weed which is intoxicating when consumed. Brewing ethanol from tobacco was an idea I got recently remembering my childhood days. Tobacco is safe because unlike the opium poppy plant, hemp, or cannabis, it is not an illegal substance. If you chose the opium poppy plant or any other kind of weed, hemp, or cannabis, then it would have to be legalized to grow those varieties to brew biofuel and do it under strict government scrutiny so that there are no leaks in the production line to make heroin or any other illegal substance.
